Operation Walk Canada is a not-for profit volunteer medical services organization whose purpose is to restore pain free mobility and improve the quality of life of disadvantaged patients in Ecuador and Guatemala by providing hip and knee replacement surgery. These patients suffer from debilitating bone and joint disease and have little or no access to medical care.

Operation Walk Canada was established in London, Ontario in 2006 by Dr. Cec Rorabeck. Enlisting the resources of a strong local Orthopaedic community, he assembled a team which traveled to La Antigua, Guatemala in 2006 and performed 52 hip and knee replacements.

In 2009, Dr. Bob Bourne formed a second Operation Walk team to travel to Cuenca, Ecuador to perform hip replacement surgeries on patients with developmental hip dysplasia.

Both teams continue their missions to Guatemala and Ecuador to the present day.

Operation Walk Canada has no religious or political affiliations, is funded entirely by donations from private individuals and corporate partners and is governed by a Board of Directors.
