Join us Wednesday, October 8th, for 2025’s Annual Fundraiser: a nostalgic musical voyage care of The Yacht Rock Show!

It was the largest team ever - 82 in total - and they hit a record! In just five days, and under the intrepid leadership of Dr. Steve McDonald and Kristie Vasarhelyi, the team operated on 72 patients and provided 89 joint replacements, putting infinite smiles on faces of people who otherwise would have no care.  

We can’t think of a more deserving person to win Dr. Bob Bourne’s painting! Margaret Duboyce has been donating to Operation Walk Canada every year since our inception in 2006. Dr. Bourne generously offered his painting as a door prize at our recent fundraising concert. 

Armed with a hockey bag full of equipment, Dr. Olaf Plotzke made his first trip to Antigua, Guatemala with Operation Walk Canada (OWC) in 2016. The bag was brimming with the supplies needed to provide dental care to children in the Central American country – children who didn’t have access to a dentist, and often were unable to eat properly because all that remained of their teeth were tiny nubs with exposed nerves. 

Piedad Palo Zeugo’s life was filled with pain and sadness. The 58-year-old man from Guanazàn, Zaruma Canton in south central Ecuador stoically accepted the hurt until the Operation Walk Canada (OWC) team arrived in the City of Cuenca…

We have made the difficult decision to cancel our Guatemala mission which was scheduled to depart on October 27, 2023. Aside from during the pandemic, this is the first time our annual mission has not taken place; however, due to political unrest in the area, proceeding would put our volunteers at risk…
