Excitement filled the room during our sold-out event at the London Hunt Club as we marked Operation Walk's 20 years of missions in Guatemala and Ecuador. The Latin-themed night brought together new and returning donors, volunteers and industry partners for a chance to mingle, reconnect and celebrate!
The evening's MC was Dr. Steven MacDonald a crowd favourite who was charismatic as usual. Our founders Dr. Robert Bourne and Dr. Cecil Rorabeck enlightened the audience with some history on the charity's beginnings and as it has evolved over the years. Speakers also included our Event Sponsor - Patrick O'Neill from CIBC as well as long time donors Bob Lawless and Helen and Andrew Spriet.
To finish off the evening Dr. James Howard introduced our longtime colleague Dr. Manuel Avila, an Ecuador physician, who spoke about the impact of the mission to his patients and their community. The entire night was a huge success!
Our capital campaign was initiated this year alongside Operation Walk Canada's 20th anniversary. That evening we celebrated donations made to this campaign, and to date we are excited to announce a milestone - just over 2.5 million dollars.
